HOW WE STARTED

Houselight began in early 2018 when Jayne McLendon and Octavia Chavez-Richmond set out to produce the new play Capsized  (written by Octavia), which was developed in a playwriting workshop led by Trinity Rep's Deb Salem-Smith in the fall of 2017. After growing as a cohort for three years in the Brown/Trinity actor incubator, Jayne started Houselight to be an artistic home for graduates of the Brown/Trinity program and other joyous, like-minded (or rather, like-hearted) artists. Since 2018, Jayne has expanded Houselight to focus on film production.
